Terms of use

These terms apply to cgbb.org, api.cgbb.org, CGBB membership, the CGBB Website Trust Credential and the CGBB connector and API for AI agents (api.cgbb.org/mcp). They are made by the Council for Global Brand Building (“CGBB”, “we”), a non-profit association founded in Hong Kong. By using these services you accept these terms. Questions: secretariat@cgbb.org.

Membership

  • Basic CGBB membership is free. The CGBB Secretariat reviews every application and may approve, decline, suspend or end a membership, for example if information given is inaccurate or a member breaches these terms.
  • Applicants must give accurate information and apply only for an organisation they represent, using its own website domain and the work email of a real person who agrees to be contacted.
  • Advanced membership is paid. Its price, billing and renewal are shown before purchase; it renews yearly until cancelled, and you can cancel the renewal at any time.

The Website Trust Credential

  • The free CGBB Website Trust Credential (the CGBB Member level, published as a trust.json file) confirms that the organisation is an approved CGBB member, controls the stated website domain, and has a contact person who confirmed by email.
  • It is not a certification, rating, endorsement or guarantee of the organisation, its products, services or conduct. Trust scores and the CGBB Verified Trusted level come only with the paid comprehensive Trust Review.
  • A credential may be published only on the domain it was issued for. The live record at api.cgbb.org/verify is authoritative; CGBB may suspend or revoke a credential, and a revoked credential must be removed.
  • Do not alter a credential file or present it as more than it is. Copied or edited files fail verification.

AI agents, the connector and the API

  • The CGBB connector (api.cgbb.org/mcp) and API are free to use, without an API key, subject to fair use and rate limits.
  • Agents may apply only for a brand their user represents, with that user’s knowledge. Agents cannot confirm applications for a person; the contact person confirms by email.
  • Do not use the services to send spam, submit false or bulk applications, probe or overload our systems, or collect data about other members beyond their public verification records.
  • We may change, limit or suspend the connector or API, or block abusive use, at any time.

Names, logos and badges

  • CGBB, 品信會, the CGBB logo and the Verified Trusted badge belong to CGBB. Members may refer to their membership accurately; the Verified Trusted badge may be displayed only by organisations holding that level, linked to their live record.

Baseline self-test and other content

  • The free Baseline self-test gives an indicative result, not a formal assessment, certification or professional advice. Content on cgbb.org is for general information.

No guarantees; liability

  • The services are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or how any search engine or AI system will rank, cite or treat an organisation.
  • To the extent the law allows, CGBB is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

  • We may update these terms and will post changes on this page with a new date. These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
