Website Trust Credential

Make your website verifiable by AI.

AI assistants increasingly research and shortlist brands for buyers. The CGBB Website Trust Credential lets them confirm, in one check, that your website belongs to a real organisation reviewed by CGBB.

  • Signed by CGBB and published on your own website
  • Checked by any AI agent against the live CGBB registry
  • Provided to members at no cost, as a public service

GEO checklist: six steps to help AI understand and trust your brand
  1. Get your CGBB Website Trust Credential and publish it at /.well-known/trust.json.
  2. Add an llms.txt file that tells AI assistants who you are and where your key facts are.
  3. Add schema.org Organization data to your homepage: legal name, logo, contact details and links to your official profiles.
  4. Keep your name, address and contact details the same on your website, LinkedIn and business directories.
  5. Allow reputable AI crawlers in your robots.txt, unless you have a reason not to.
  6. Publish clear, factual pages AI can quote: what you do, for whom, where, and the evidence behind it.
Connect CGBB to your AI assistant (MCP)

Assistants that support custom connectors (MCP), such as Claude and ChatGPT, can work with CGBB directly. Add a custom connector with this address. No account or sign-in is needed.

FAQ

Will the credential improve my GEO and AI visibility?

It gives AI agents an independent, machine-readable trust signal they can check, and gives your domain a verifiable public record at api.cgbb.org. Nobody can guarantee how an AI system ranks or cites a brand, so treat the credential as a free, quick step that works alongside good content, structured data and llms.txt.

What does the credential prove?

That your brand is an approved CGBB member and controls the website domain. It is not a certification, rating or endorsement of your products, services or conduct. Trust scores come only with the paid comprehensive Trust Review.

Is it really free?

Yes. Free membership includes the CGBB Website Trust Credential, the CGBB Member badge and the Brand Trust Baseline self-test. Only Advanced membership, with its full Trust Review, is paid. CGBB provides them as a public service, because in the age of AI, geopolitics and automated agents, trust is becoming the most important element of business and society, and trust that can be checked makes business more efficient.
